Prior to opening my Etsy shop, I knew nothing about photography. After I decided that I was going to get serious about my business, I researched digital cameras, bought a Nikon Coolpix P4, and hopped online to figure out how to use it.

Here are the resources that I found useful while trying to learn how to use my camera to get great product shots…

• How To Successfully Photograph Your Own Artwork - Good explanation of things to look for in a digital camera (megapixels, white balance, etc), plus tips for using photo editing software.
• Camera Jim’s Guide to Ebay Auction Photography - Written for Feebay, but applies to all product photography.
• TableTopStudio Product Photography How-To - The products are overpriced, but this site has some great tips for hard-to-photograph subjects like glass and jewelry.
• Strobist - How To: DIY $10 Macro Photo Studio
